Email Obscurer

Why use an ASCII code email obscurer?

Bots constantly scan the web for useful information they can harvest on mass from websites, this commonly includes email addresses which will quickly find their way onto spam lists. Obscuring your email address with ASCII code will help to minimise your exposure, though the only way to completely keep your address safe is to hide it behind a contact form (see our HTML Responsive contact form generator).

How does it work?

The email obscurer will convert each of the characters from your email address into ASCII code, so for example joe@bloggs.com would become the following:

joe@bloggs.com

Allowing you to create a link like this: joe@bloggs.com, which if you were to view the source of this page you would see as the bots would, like this:

<a href="mailto:joe@bloggs.com">joe@bloggs.com</a>
